Ingredients Required:

sambar onions: 1/2 kg

thuvar dhal: 1/4 kg

sambar power: 6 spoons

salt: as per your taste

tamarind: a lemon size

coriander leaves: a little

curry leaf: 4 strings

oil: 2 spoon

mustard: 1 spoon

asafoetida: 1 pinch

turmeric powder: 1 pinch

Method of Preparation:

wash the sambar onions and peel off the husk and cut it into 2 pieces. put thuvar dhal, onion, one pinch of turmeric powder, 3 tumblers of water in a vessel and put the vessel on a stove. after onion and dhal are baked well, add sambar power and boil the same further. then squeeze the tamarind and ad the juice and boil. then put salt, curry leaf and boil and season the same with mustard and asafoetida.
