beaten bengal gram: 1 small cup
coriander leaf: a little
curry leaf: 2 sticks
grated coconut: according to your taste
mustard: for seasoning
asafoetida: 1/2 pinch
oil: a little
green chilli: 4 nos
salt: according to your taste
lemon juice: 1 spoon
Method of Preparation:
wash the cucumber well and cut off the bitter ends, and if you wish to remove the skin, peel and cut it into very small pieces and put it in a vessel. wash the beaten bengal gram well and soak the same in the water for some time and pour all the water and add the cut pieces of cucumber.
put oil in small pan and when it boils put mustard. after mustard bursts beaten bengal gram, cut pieces of green chilli, half a pinch of asafoetida and turn them well. pour the seasoned oil over the cucumber pieces and mix them nicely. add grated coconuts, coriander leaf, curry lear, lemon juice. now bengal gram-cucumber kosambari is ready.
